Scientific and methodology activities is essential for teaching staff of the military department, in which students trained at the department take an active part. This activity is organized and carried out in accordance with the approved work plan. The topics are developed by the military department related to the needs of the educational process organization, improvement of the training material base of the military department, improvement of the technical training means, visual aids, equipment and weapons. Military science, inventive and rationalization developments are discussed at the staff meetings. The lecturers and students of the military department design and produce models, stands and visual aids, including those for technical training aids, to organize the training process for various specialties. The majority of students of the military department take an active part in this work. The students of the military department actively participate in scientific conferences guided by their teachers.
The teachers of the military department have developed and prepared 102 methodological guidelines and teaching aids to improve the methods of teaching disciplines, including in the state language 30.
The lecturers of the military department developed electronic resources for students' independent and interactive work, to provide the teaching process: lecture courses, electronic teaching aids and teaching instructions.
The teaching staff work on creating a virtual simulator of starting up the T72 tank engine for the specialties Combat Application of Tank Units, Troops and Formations and Organization of Operation and Repair of Armoured Vehicles in co-operation with the staff of the Scientific Centre Cybersport and Gamification of Education. The students can get acquainted with the details of the T72 tank in a three-dimensional environment and try out virtual driving of the tank using this simulator.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, the IT circle "The USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN the MILITARY EDUCATION SYSTEM" was created and continues to work for students of the military department.
The purpose of the IT club is to develop the information culture of students of the military department and the ability to navigate in the modern information society. Creation of mobile and computer applications for teaching students of the military department.
The main tasks of the IT club:
- increasing the interest of students of the military department in activities in military education;
- analysis and development of software products for the military department;
- practical development of new and complex products;
- discussion of computer world news;
- project development;
- participation in practical conferences.
Every year, students of the military Department develop and implement IT projects in the educational process to consolidate theoretical material and improve the practical skills of students of the military department using information technology.
