The access to the Internet is provided free of charge to:

  1. all students of full-time and correspondence forms of learning in WiFi-zones of Building G (the hall, the columned hall, the library, Conference hall G-101, the 2-nd floor of Building G-1 near G-2, Technopark).  Speed up to 64Kb/second. The service has been available since April, 1st;
  2. full-time first-year students having free-of-charge Internet card (50 Mb);
  3.  those learning at the computer classes, at the teacher’s request (50 Mb);
  4. the students participating in scientific, technical and other actual projects, at  the head’s request.

The University carries out anti-crisis projects to support the students by means of creating favorable conditions and economical kinds of access to the Internet. For example:

  • the students using the University Internet cards got double traffic, that is ”50 Mb paid, 50 Mb free” before the summer examination session of 2009;
  • extra tariff of 70 tenges per hour is available.

The Internet Cards

The UKSTU Internet cards make  possible the Internet access:

  • both from the home, and from any computer in the network;
  • without restrictions on the minimal sum of payment;
  • according to the volume or to the inexpensive time tariff;
  • using wireless technologies of the main building and Technopark.

The Internet card is blocked if its balance is negative. Therefore it is desirable that the balance is always positive (at least 5 Mb). The statistics of the card can be viewed at http://www.stat.ektu.kz/statistics. The balance can be increased at G-1-210 (sector of network technologies). The cost of the service for the students and academic staff - 5 tenges for 1Mb, and 5 tenges per hour.

For information apply to G-1-208 (Head of ITC), G-1-210 (sector of network technologies).
