On the 30th of September at D. Serikbayev EKSTU  square  was ceremonial event "Dedication to students". More than 1500 students have become students of one of the leading technical universities in the country.

At the forefront of the event there was the highest collegial body of University management – members of the Academic Council of D Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University and University faculty.

The rector of  D. Serikbayev EKSTU, Professor Zhasulan Shaimardanov, congratulating first-year students, joined to the students of EKSTU, wished them success in fulfilling their goals.

-Dear colleagues, today it is a very significant event at our University. Today on teacher’s Day we accept new school graduates to the ranks of the student fraternity. I really believe that you will be worthy students of this University in the near future we will be proud of you, as now we are proud of our graduates. Good luck, dear students! - said the rector of the University Zh. Shaimardanov.

The doctor of geological-mineralogical Sciences, academician of the national Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Boris Dyachkov, doctoral student of the Information technology and Business Department Indira Sagynganova, graduates of Earth Sciences Department  Sayan Kasymov passed the knowledge torch to a new generation. The torch was taken by the student of the Information technology and Business Department  Erasyl Otarov, student of the Earth Sciences Department  Aliya Murzagalieva and student of the Engineering Department Sabina Mamyrova.

The Dean of Engineering Department , doctor of technical Sciences Mikhail Dudkin presented Symbolic student ticket to holders of "Altyn belgi" students of Engineering Department  AlinaOralgaliyeva and student of Information technology and Business Department  Balzhan Abylkanova.

Symbolic gradebook was presented by the Dean of Information technology and Business Department, candidate of physico-mathematical Sciences Natalia Denisova and Doctor of technical Sciences, Professor Tulegen Ipalakov to  holders of "Altyn belgi" students of information technology and business Department Ayaulym Kamelova and student of Engineering Department Konstantin Talinin.

The students recited the “Oath of the freshman”. Then the students Hymn ("Gaudeamus")was sang by Azat Turanel, the winner of the International competition of the Delphic games in Moscow, the winner of Russian contest of young vocalists "Orpheus" in Chelyabinsk, the winner of the International competition named after Sh. Kaldayakov.

Concert and evening ended with a festive disco.
