On April 14-15, the major student event of this spring - the Republican Festival "Our Nation Relies upon You" took place in the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation.
The Festival contains several events allowing students to realize their potential to the maximum and manifest themselves in wide variety of fields. These are also intellectual debates (this year subject is "Interethnic Tolerance in Kazakhstan: indulgence or friendship?") and results announcement of the Contest "Scientists of Future", and the most important is exciting competition in the frames of the "Youth Wave" Olympiad.
The Olympiad was conducted in the form of tournament team competitions between the day university students of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the course of which creative thinking and innovative approach, knowledge on basic disciplines, general physical preparedness and team spirit are evaluated.
In the qualifying try-out round of the project "Idea for Million 233 teams from different cities of Kazakhstan presented their innovative projects.
Team EKSTU named after D. Serkbaev presented the project "Cereal Bar - Our Impact to Nation's Health" (leaders: Professor of "TAE" Malyshev N.P Ph.D., senior lecturer in "TAE" Egorova E.A.) . About 8 team-finalists made the try-out and won the right to participate in this exciting event from Narxoz University, S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Humanitarian and technical academy (Kokshetau), Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University, South - Kazakhstan State Pharmaceutical Academy, Caspian University, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan state technical university.
In a fascinating and bitter struggle team "GOOD", Department of Information Technologies and Business (Supervisors: senior lecturer in "TAE" Udovitskaya E.Y), entered the top three, and won the third place prize, and the team members were awarded with MP3 players.
