The international scientific and practical conference «Shakarim Readings - 2024», dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Shakarim University, was held in Semey, Abay region on November 15, 2024. The purpose of the conference was to discuss current problems in the humanities and social sciences, trends in the development of modern pedagogy and education, and the integration of engineering and technical education with science and production.

Within the framework of the project AR19677724 «Construction of a model of informal education «student - university - external educational environment» a senior lecturer of EKTU, research fellow of this project I.M. Kalelova successfully presented a report on the topic "Advantages and challenges of informal education" at a sectional meeting of the conference. The report aroused great interest among the conference participants. It touched upon the problems of the development of non-formal education, which is becoming a significant priority in academic policy, since such education ensures, on the one hand, the continuity of professional development, and on the other, integrates and develops resources outside the «formal» educational space. Informal learning formats such as workshops, projects and clubs provide opportunities for students to put theoretical knowledge into practice, which contributes to a better understanding of the material and its application in real-world settings.

Informal education is an integral part of the education system and plays a key role in the formation of a harmonious personality and the development of society. It helps people reach their potential, find their place in life and contribute to the progress of society.
