EKSTU hosted the final games of the Republican volleyball tournament dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the EKSTU named after D. Serikbayev. The competitions were held in three stages in the sports hall of the university. From 16 to 17 February preliminary games, and on February 18 the final took place. In the preliminary stage of the competition 8 teams from Almaty, Almaty, Mangystau, South Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Kyzylorda, Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions took part. According to the results of the competitions, the hosts of the tournament took the first place - East Kazakhstan, the second - Kyzylorda and the third - South-Kazakhstan. Prize-winners of the tournament received money rewards, cups, medals and diplomas personally from the hands of the EKSTU’s rector, Zhasulan Shaymardanov. It should be noted that the best players of the finals were: bonding Akhmet Sahariev (EKO), Pavlodar Zakhar Chernysh, Almaty Azamat Bazarkhanov, striker Sabirzhan Abdullayev (SKO), libero Mukhamedali Baitugelov and youngest participant Aset Rysmakhanov from Kyzylorda region.
