May 6 in the Assembly Hall of the D. Serikbayev EKTU  held a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Batyr and Victory Day.

The participants of the event were veterans of the university, faculty, staff and students of the university. Rector of the EKTU Professor Zhasulan Shaimardanov addressed the audience with a congratulatory speech.

- I congratulate all those present on the upcoming May holidays. 27 years ago we declared ourselves as a sovereign state. We have created our own army, which vigilantly guards the borders of our vast Motherland. Also today we bow our heads to the heroism of the people who gave their lives for our freedom for our future. Victory Day is one of the most important holidays for each of us, - the rector emphasized.

The concert program included songs performed by EKTU students and invited artists of the region.

Traditionally, soldiers who died in battle were honored with a minute of silence.
