On 21 April 2020, docent of the Sub-Department of the History of Kazakhstan and Socio-Political Disciplines, K.S. Kaliyeva, Candidate of Historical Sciences of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the online round table titled "Spiritual Renewal in Regional History", organized by the Sub-Department of the History of Kazakhstan of the S. Amanzholov EKSU. The event was moderated by a graduate student of the AltSU in Barnaul Zh.A. Kalimoldina, MA. The round table was participated by representatives of universities and high schools of the city and region.

The representative of the D. Serikbayev EKSTU made a presentation titled "History of East Kazakhstan in the Scientific and Methodological Heritage of the Historian, Ethnographer and Museologist R.S. Fedorova", in which she described the life and scientific path of her teacher. According to R.S. Fedorova, "the history of the Motherland starts with the history of the "small homeland", i.e. the region where a person was born and is living".

As a result of the round table, a set of recommendations was adopted, including the creation of a inter-university council on local history (for organizing and holding seminars, trainings and discussions on methodological questions, etc.) and publication of a series of books about the ethnographers of the region, etc. 

Docent K.S. Kaliyeva invited pupils and teachers of high schools, students, and lecturers to the EKSTU Museum for holding lectures on the history and culture of the region.
