Project abstract
Purpose of the Project is to develop and physicochemical substantiation of a promising technology for sulfuric acid leaching of zinc from oxidized zinc ore by expanding the raw material base of zinc hydrometallurgical industries, increasing their economic efficiency and environmental safety.
Relevance: At the moment, a considerable amount of rich oxidized zinc ore is known in the world. However, a small number of these deposits is involved in processing, which reduces the raw material base of zinc production. Taking into account the problem of depletion of zinc sulfide ores, the involvement of oxidized zinc raw materials in the processing is a very urgent task.
Research methods: In the Project, it is envisaged to carry out physical and chemical studies in order to determine the mineralogical, chemical and granulometric compositions of oxidized zinc ore using modern methods of analysis: X-ray diffraction, immersion, thermogravimetric, scanning electron microscopy, spectral, chemical, sieve and others.
