Sub-department of "Machine and Process Automation" was created in 2003 as part of the Faculty of Information Technology and Energy at the sub-department of "Electrical Engineering, Automation and Instrumentation."

Currently, the department provides training in three areas:

Automation and Control:

• 5B070200 Undergraduate
• 6M070200 Master
• 6D070200 PhD course

Instrument:

• 5B071600 Undergraduate
• 6M071600 Master

Radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications:

• 5B071900 Undergraduate

In the near future to obtain a license to conduct educational activities for two more educational programs:

• Master's degree 6M071900 - Radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications
• Doctorate PhD 6D071600 - Instrument.

All of these special chairs produced about a thousand engineers, bachelors and masters. Graduates of the department successfully work as engineers and leading experts on such enterprises as "Kazzinc", JSC "UMP" JSC "UK TMK" and many others. As part of the integration of education and production sub-department draws his former students who already have sufficient experience to participate in the learning process and the training of specialists in the field of instrumentation and automation with the real needs of enterprises of Kazakhstan.

To prepare competitive specialists sub-department "Instrument and automation of technological processes" has sufficient resources - a highly qualified teaching staff and teaching support staff, modern laboratory and information and communications equipment.
