The International Conference "Engineering Education: Challenges, Trends, Best Practices (EE: CTBP)" has started at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, which brought together leading specialists of engineering education from Kazakhstan, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, USA, UK and Russia. This large-scale event has become a unique platform for discussing modern trends and challenges in engineering education, as well as sharing best practices in the field of educational technologies.
The conference is dedicated to the important issues facing engineering education today. The participants discuss the introduction of innovative technologies in the educational process, improvement of practice-oriented curricula, as well as issues of standardization, certification and accreditation of engineering specialties. Special attention is paid to the exchange of experience and best practices among the participants, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of engineering training in the context of global challenges.
The conference was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the project «Constructing a national engineering education model in response to sustainable development goals». It should be noted that the project team, which includes EKTU scientists, has already developed the Concept of Engineering Education Development, and a new model of training of engineering specialists is being created, which will significantly modernize the educational system.
- Today, the advanced training of engineering personnel has a direct impact on the sustainability and balance of economic growth of each country. As the experience of leading industrialized countries shows, national engineering education should be dominated by integration with industry, there should be a balance between scientific and practical and theoretical training in universities. I am sure that EKTU as a strong university in science will contribute to the development of national engineering education of the country and will make a great contribution to the training of highly qualified engineers, masters, doctoral students. I wish all the participants of the conference fruitful work, - noted the Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan DARKHAN AHMED-ZAKI.
A special place in the conference program is occupied by the exhibition of modern laboratory, analytical and educational equipment, which provided an opportunity for the participants to get acquainted with the advanced technologies in the field of engineering and science.
The second part of the conference will be held in mid-October at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. The results of discussions at both venues will bring fresh ideas and solutions for further development of the engineering education system.
