D Serikbaev EKSTU was a meeting between teachers and students of the university with cosmonaut, who is the National hero of Kazakhstan, Colonel of Kazakh Air Force Aidyn Akanovich Aimbetov.
Ten days he spent on the board of International Space Station as second flight engineer of spacecraft as part of the international crew. Launched in the September 2 from Baikonur spaceport "Soyuz TMA-18M" and September 4 docked with the International Space Station (ISS). Spacecraft delivered the international crew into orbit, which included - cosmonaut of "Kazkosmos" Aidyn Aimbetov, Russian cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen. It is important to note that the flight for Kazakhstan cosmonaut into space took place in the anniversary year of the cosmodrome "Baikonur".
The meeting was opened by Vice Rector of educational, social and economic activities of D. Serikbayev EKSTU Zhaksykeldy Nazbiev. He welcomed the cosmonaut on behalf of the University and thanked him for his honor to the university.
- Our students are the future of Kazakhstan, - with these words A.Aimbetov began communicating with East Kazakhstan youth. In an interview, he accented that D. Serikbayev EKSTU is famous throughout the former Soviet Union, its graduates occupy high political leadership positions throughout the former Soviet Union. Today's university students have the potential to achieve the high attitude in the future and most importantly - the pursuit to the knowledge, which generously share with them the faculty of the university.
During the meeting, the cosmonaut answered to all questions from students and teachers. He emphasized the importance of the flight and thanked Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the promotion and development of space industry of the country, also all the people of Kazakhstan - for the support and the trust provided to the cosmonaut.
- I remember the solemn moment when the President handed me the highest award of Kazakhstan - "Halyk Kaharmany" - said Aidyn Akanovich - I was overwhelmed with emotion, but it was then that I was determined and vowed that I will always work for the benefit of Kazakhstan! I saw our planet from space. It is so beautiful and delicate! Before the flight my colleagues shared their impressions, but when I saw the Earth with my own eyes - it is an impressive sight! I saw Kazakhstan from the space and very homesick.
According to the words of Aidyn Aimbetov, while they were on the station there were carried out more than a dozen research experiments. Among them - the monitoring of the ecology of the Aral and Caspian seas, research in the field of biotechnology and biomedicine and a series of other experiments which include - tasting Kazakh national dishes in conditions of weightlessness.
- Approbation of high-tech products that was created by our Institute of Nutrition became one of the assigned tasks, - he explained. - It was freeze-dried products which are in vacuum packed that included vitamins, special additives. Among them - a soup-kharcho " Dzhigit", cookies, kurt, irimshik, milk with the addition of mushrooms. When my colleague from Danish tried to eat the irimshik, he really likes his taste. First, Andreas decided that the product - the development of Kazakh scientists and was very surprised when I said that this product - the legacy of Kazakh cuisine and our ancestors.
