Today, EKTU named after D. Serikbaev hosted the first-ever Student Engineering Projects Fair in the university's history, showcasing projects developed within the framework of the World CDIO Initiative. The projects presented at the event were created by first-year students as part of the "Introduction to Engineering Education" course. It's important to note that the primary goal of the fair was not only to develop fundamental engineering skills (hard skills) but also to cultivate so-called "soft skills" such as communication, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and more. Additionally, all student "engineering masterpieces" were aimed at solving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The CDIO Engineering Projects Fair was held in a competition format, with 68 projects vying for recognition. Today's fair was a true "battle" of creativity, originality, creative thinking, and resourcefulness from the first-year students. Students, faculty, and staff immersed themselves in a world of amazing engineering ideas, some of which could become the foundation for future innovative developments. For example, the fair featured underwater houses, devices for detecting emotions, a "smart" bench, various robots, an underground garage, a drone, and much more.

Also, Akim of the region Ermek Kosherbaev got acquainted with the projects of ЕKTU students.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the TOP-3 best projects via electronic voting. According to the results, the winner was the "Mountain Excavations" project (group 24-GDK-1), followed by the second-place "Architectural Wonders of the Mosque and Taj Mahal" (group 24-GTK-1) and third place went to "Planet Earth" (group 24-GD-1).

In conclusion, I would like to highlight the energy and enthusiasm of our students in implementing these projects. Events like the Student Engineering Projects Fair serve as a boost and a "push" toward further innovations!
